Sharon Grigsby, Metro Columnist at The Dallas Morning News (DMN), joins Shawn Williams and Ryan Trimble at the MZ Studios Dallas Virtual Studios in CyberSpace. On Deconstructing Dallas, Grigsby discusses joining DMN right out of college, why the past eight years have been the best part of her career, and the transition to a remote newsroom since COVID hit in March.

Deconstructing Dallas also gets a few hot takes in their conversation with Grigsby, including her thoughts on the departure of Chief Hall and what the department needs in our next Chief of Police, what she believes is working well at City Hall and where we need to improve, and how she’s dealt with challenges of personal opinion versus stance of the paper over the years. Grigsby also dives into an important topic she covers – mental health and teen suicide – and what more we can be expecting to see from her next.
